Cookie Policy

This Cookie Policy explains, in plain language, how SK Play Labs uses cookies and similar technologies — what we store, why, and how you stay in control. It works alongside our [Privacy Policy](/privacy-policy).

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files a website can store in your browser. Similar technologies — such as local storage — let a site save small amounts of data on your device too. Both are used to remember preferences, keep a site working, and understand how it’s used. In this policy, “cookies” is shorthand for all of these unless we say otherwise.

Our approach: as little as possible

We built the site to be light on data. We don’t set any tracking cookies of our own, and nothing non-essential loads until you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner. What we do store today lives in your browser’s local storage — not in cookies, and never sent to us — and you can clear it whenever you like.

The categories we use

Anything a site uses generally falls into one of four groups. Today we only actually use the first two; the last two are described so this policy stays accurate as the site grows.

  • Strictly necessary — needed for the site to work and to remember your privacy choice. Always on; no consent required.
  • Preferences — remember choices you make, like light or dark theme. Stored on your device.
  • Analytics — help us understand aggregate usage and performance. Loaded only after you accept; the service we use is cookieless.
  • Advertising — used to serve, cap, and measure ads. Not active today; reserved for if and when we enable advertising, and only after you accept.

What we store today

Here’s exactly what’s in play right now. Everything below is kept in your browser, not on our servers:

Advertising cookies (when enabled)

To keep the tools free, we may later display third-party advertising, principally Google AdSense — it isn’t active yet. When it is, those services may set cookies (from domains such as google.com, doubleclick.net, or googlesyndication.com) to show, cap, and measure ads, including, with your consent, ads based on your prior visits.

Advertising will load only after you accept cookies. For visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, Google requires a certified Consent Management Platform for personalised ads; we’ll use one, or restrict those regions to non-personalised ads. You can opt out of personalised ads any time through Google My Ad Center or the Digital Advertising Alliance. Our Privacy Policy has more on how advertising works here.

How to control cookies

You’re always in charge. You can:

  • Change or withdraw your consent any time via the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.
  • Adjust or block cookies in your browser settings.
  • Delete existing cookies and clear local storage through your browser.
  • Manage personalised advertising via Google My Ad Center or the Digital Advertising Alliance.

A note on blocking storage

Because we use your device’s storage to remember your privacy choice, clearing or blocking it may mean the banner asks you again on your next visit. Either way, the tools and games keep working — none of them need cookies to run.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” (DNT) or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. There isn’t yet a single agreed standard for how sites must respond, so we don’t rely on these signals alone — but since we set no tracking cookies of our own and gate everything non-essential behind your explicit “Accept”, your privacy is protected either way.

Changes to this policy

As the site evolves — especially if we turn on advertising — we may update this Cookie Policy. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version, and any significant change will be made clear.
