Privacy Policy

The short version

Our tools run in your browser. You don’t need an account, and we don’t ask for your name, email, or any personal details to use them.

Anything the site saves for convenience — a calculator’s history, a game’s progress, your light/dark theme, your cookie choice — is stored only on your own device and is never sent to us.

We use a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics service to understand aggregate usage. It loads only if you choose “Accept”, and you can change that at any time from the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer.

We don’t show any advertising at the moment, and no ad network’s code runs on the site. We intend to add advertising later to cover the cost of running it, and if we do we’ll say so here first. We don’t sell your personal information. The full breakdown is in our Cookie Policy.

Who we are

SK Play Labs is an independent, self-funded project run by a two-person team based in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, publishing free online tools, calculators, and browser games under the SK label. We publish under the studio name rather than our own — you can read why on our About page — but that changes nothing about our obligations here: for the purposes of the DPDP Act we are the party responsible for the limited data handling described in this policy, and we answer for it. The easiest way to reach us — including for any privacy question or to exercise a right — is by email at [email protected]. If you need to reach a named individual for a legal or regulatory matter, ask in that email and we will provide one.

Information we don’t collect

The tools on this site are designed to work without collecting personal information. We don’t require sign-up, we don’t ask for personal details, and we don’t build a profile from the values you type into a calculator or tool. What you enter is processed in your browser to produce a result and isn’t transmitted to us.

Files you open in our tools

Some tools let you work with your own files — for example compressing a photo or merging PDFs. When you open a file in one of these tools, it is read and processed entirely in your browser to produce the result. Your file is never uploaded to us, never stored on our servers, and never seen by us. The finished file exists only on your device until you save it, and closing or refreshing the page clears it from memory.

Information stored on your device

Some features use your browser’s local storage to remember things between visits. This data stays in your browser, is never transmitted to our servers, and you can clear it at any time from the tool itself or through your browser settings. Today that covers:

• Your light or dark theme, so the site opens the way you left it.
• Your cookie choice (accept or decline), so we don’t have to ask again each visit.
• Convenience data some tools keep locally — for example, recent calculations or a game’s progress.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, when your browser requests a page, our hosting provider automatically receives the standard technical information needed to deliver it — such as your IP address (used to approximate your general region), your device and browser type, and which page you asked for. We use this only in aggregate, to keep the site running and understand what’s popular; we don’t use it to identify you. Where we enable analytics or advertising, those providers may receive similar technical information under their own policies, as described below.

Legal basis and your consent

Our cookie banner covers one thing: analytics. Those don’t load at all until you choose “Accept”, and declining costs you nothing — every tool works exactly the same either way.

There is no advertising on the site today, so there is nothing else to consent to. If we do add it, visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland will be asked separately through a Google-certified consent tool, which is the mechanism the law requires there and which a home-made banner like ours cannot satisfy on its own.

Your consent is entirely optional, and withdrawing it is as easy as giving it. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie preferences” link in the footer of any page, by choosing “Decline”, or by clearing the site’s data in your browser. Withdrawing consent doesn’t affect the tools — they keep working without it — and it doesn’t undo processing that already, lawfully, took place while your consent was in effect.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files a site can store in your browser; similar technologies such as local storage save small amounts of data on your device. We don’t set any tracking cookies of our own, our analytics service is cookieless, and with no advertising running there are currently no third-party advertising cookies either. What that would change is set out under “Advertising” below and in our Cookie Policy.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and change or withdraw consent for non-essential cookies at any time. Our Cookie Policy sets out exactly what is used, and when.

Advertising

We are not showing advertising at present. We would like to, to cover what it costs to run the site, and this section explains in advance what that would mean so it isn’t a surprise if it appears.

If advertising is enabled, it would be served by a third-party network. Such networks use cookies to serve and measure ads, and — where you have allowed it — to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. Google, for example, describes what it collects on sites using its services in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Two commitments if that day comes. Ads would stay out of the way by design — never between a tool’s input and its result, never as a pop-up or overlay, and never placed so they shift the page while you’re reading. And visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland would be asked for consent through a certified Consent Management Platform before any personalised ad was served, which is what the law requires there.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time through Google My Ad Center, across many networks at the Digital Advertising Alliance’s opt-out page, or, in Europe, at Your Online Choices. Any ad network we use operates under its own privacy policy, including Google’s Privacy Policy. We don’t choose, control, or endorse the specific ads shown — they’re selected programmatically by the ad network.

Analytics and performance

We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights — privacy-friendly services that help us see how the site is used (which tools are popular) and how well it performs (page-loading speed), so we can improve both. Neither sets cookies, tracks you across other websites, nor builds a profile of you. We only ever see this information in aggregate — page views, referring sites, approximate country and device type, and performance metrics — never in a way that identifies you personally. Because our cookie banner promises to ask first, these two services run only after you choose “Accept”. If you decline, or before you choose, neither is loaded at all.

How we use information

• To operate, maintain, and improve the site and its tools.
• To understand usage in aggregate and prioritise what to build next.
• To keep the site secure and investigate misuse.
• If advertising is enabled in future, to display and measure ads. Not in use today.

How long we keep information

We don’t keep personal data about you on our own systems, because we don’t collect it. Data a tool stores for your convenience lives on your device until you clear it. Aggregate analytics and any advertising data are retained by those providers under their own retention policies, not by us.

Sharing

We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s independent marketing. We may share limited technical information with the service providers that run the site — hosting, analytics, and (when enabled) advertising — strictly so they can perform that function, under their own privacy terms. We may also disclose information where the law genuinely requires it.

International transfers

Our hosting, analytics, and (when enabled) advertising providers are global companies, so the limited technical information they process on our behalf may be stored or handled on servers outside India. We rely on reputable providers that commit to appropriate safeguards under their own terms. Beyond that, there’s nothing to transfer internationally, because we don’t collect personal data ourselves.

How we protect information

The site is served over encrypted HTTPS, and we deliberately reduce risk by not collecting or storing personal data on our own systems — there is very little about you for us, or anyone else, to expose. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but keeping our data footprint close to zero is the strongest protection we can offer.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act, 2023, you (as a Data Principal) have rights over any personal data a business holds about you — to access it, to have it corrected or completed, to have it erased, to withdraw consent, to grievance redressal, and to nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to.

Because our tools run in your browser and we don’t collect or store personal data about you, in most cases there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete. Even so, you can exercise any of these rights, or ask a question about them, using the grievance contact below, and we will respond.

Grievance redressal

If you have a privacy question, a complaint, or wish to exercise any of your rights, contact our grievance point at [email protected]. We operate from Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, and handle these requests ourselves — there is no ticket queue between you and the people who built the site. We aim to acknowledge your request promptly and to resolve it within a reasonable period, consistent with the DPDP Rules, 2025.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India in accordance with the DPDP Act, 2023.

Children

This site is intended for a general audience and isn’t directed at children. Under India’s DPDP Act, a “child” is anyone under the age of 18. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children, and we don’t process a child’s data without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it.

Your choices

• Clear tool data stored on your device from the tool itself or your browser.
• Block or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings.
• Opt out of personalised ads via Google My Ad Center or the Digital Advertising Alliance.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves or as the law requires. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and we’ll make any significant change clear.
