Audio files are personal in a way spreadsheets are not — a voice note, a song you are cutting down, a recording of someone. Uploading that to a stranger's server to trim four seconds off the end has always seemed like a bad bargain. Everything in this section runs on your own device instead.

One honest limitation: we cannot export MP3. The only browser libraries that encode it are licensed in a way we will not ship, so exports come out as WAV or WebM depending on the tool. It is a real inconvenience and we would rather tell you up front than have you discover it at the download button.
