About this tool
Sometimes you have a QR code but no easy way to scan it — it's in a screenshot, a saved image, or on a screen in front of you. This tool reads it. Drop in an image (or point your camera at the code) and it decodes the contents on your device, showing you exactly what's inside: a web link, plain text, an email address, a phone number, or Wi-Fi login details. For links it offers a click-through — but only after you can see where it goes, because a QR code can lead anywhere. Nothing is uploaded; the decoding happens entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
Can I scan with my camera?
Yes. Choose 'Use camera' and allow access when your browser asks; point the camera at the code and it reads automatically. If you'd rather not use the camera, the Upload image option works with any photo or screenshot.
Is it safe to open a link from a QR code?
Only if you trust it. QR codes can encode any URL, including malicious ones, so this reader always shows you the full address first and never opens anything by itself. Check where a link goes before following it.
Does the image or camera feed get uploaded?
No. The image or camera frame is decoded on your device using an in-browser QR reader; nothing is sent to a server.
It won't read my code — why?
Decoding needs a reasonably clear, well-lit view of the whole code. A blurry, cropped, angled, or very small image can fail — try a sharper or closer shot, or make sure the entire code is in frame.
