About this tool
Pick two dates and this tool tells you how far apart they are — the total number of days and weeks, and a calendar breakdown in years, months, and days. It's handy for deadlines and countdowns, working out a notice period or contract term, counting the days until an event, or checking how long ago something happened. The dates can go in any order, the 'to' date defaults to today, and it all calculates in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate the number of days between two dates?
Enter a 'from' and a 'to' date and the tool subtracts one from the other, showing the total days (and weeks) between them. The 'to' date defaults to today, so you can also count days since or until a single date.
Does the count include both the start and end dates?
It counts the number of days between the two dates (the difference). Add one if you need to include both endpoints — for example a notice period that counts the first and last day.
Does it handle leap years and different month lengths?
Yes. Both the total-days count and the years/months/days breakdown use real calendar lengths, including 29 February in leap years, so the result is exact rather than an approximation.
Can I count the days until a future date?
Yes. Put today (or any start) as the 'from' date and a future date as the 'to' date to get a countdown in days and weeks — handy for an event, a due date, or a deadline.
How is this different from the Age Calculator?
