About this game
Sudoku is a logic puzzle: a 9×9 grid partly filled with digits. Complete it so that every row, every column, and each of the nine 3×3 boxes contains 1 through 9 with no repeats. Puzzles here are generated in your browser from a fully solved grid, then dug out to a chosen difficulty while guaranteeing exactly one solution — so every puzzle is fair and solvable by logic alone.
Example
If a row already contains 1–8, the empty cell must be 9. 'Cross-hatching' finds more: scan a 3×3 box plus the rows and columns crossing it to see the only square a given digit can legally go. Use notes to pencil in candidates when a cell has two or three possibilities.

Frequently asked questions
Does every puzzle have a unique solution?
Yes. Each puzzle is generated from a completed grid and only clues that keep the solution unique are removed, so it can always be solved by logic without guessing.
What do the difficulty levels change?
Higher difficulties leave fewer starting clues, which forces more advanced solving techniques.
