This adds a number to each page as a new text layer near the margin — it doesn't detect or replace any numbers a document already has, so a pre-numbered PDF would end up with two. About this tool
Printing a long report or handing out a merged PDF is easier when the pages are numbered — people can refer to 'page 12' and everyone lands in the same place. This tool adds a number to every page in the style and corner you choose, and can skip a cover or title page so the count starts on the real first page. It writes a new copy and leaves your original alone, all in your browser.
A typical setup
For a 40-page report with a cover, choose 'Page 1 of N', bottom centre, and tick skip-first — the cover stays clean and page two becomes 'Page 1 of 39'.

Frequently asked questions
Will it replace page numbers the PDF already has?
No — it adds a fresh number layer on top. If the document is already numbered you'd see two, so use this on PDFs that don't have numbers yet.
Can I start counting from a number other than 1?
Not yet — numbering starts at 1. 'Skip the first page' shifts what gets counted (the cover is left blank and page two becomes number 1).
Could the number sit on top of my content?
It's placed in the margin, but if your pages already have a footer there, pick a different corner so the two don't overlap.
Is my PDF uploaded to number it?
No. The numbers are drawn and the new file is created in your browser; nothing leaves your device.
