About this tool
Most photos carry more than you need — an empty margin, a stray edge, the wrong shape for where it's going. This tool lets you draw a crop box straight onto the picture and drag its corners until the framing is right. Lock it to a common ratio when you need a profile square or a 16:9 banner, or leave it free for anything. You can also turn the image in 90-degree steps to straighten a sideways shot. Pick PNG to keep every pixel and any transparency, or JPG for a smaller file — either way the whole thing happens on your device.

How to use

Frequently asked questions
Can I crop to an exact aspect ratio?
Yes. Pick one of the ratio presets and the crop box locks to that shape — resizing a corner keeps the proportions, so a 1:1 stays square and a 16:9 stays widescreen. Leave it on Free for an unconstrained crop.
Does cropping reduce the image quality?
Cropping to PNG keeps the remaining pixels exactly as they were. Saving as JPG re-encodes the picture, which is mildly lossy — choose PNG if you want the crop to be pixel-perfect.
Why did I get a white background after cropping to JPG?
JPG can't store transparency, so any see-through areas become solid white. Crop to PNG instead if your image has transparency you need to keep.
Is the image sent to a server to crop it?
No. The picture is drawn onto a canvas and cropped in your browser; the result is created locally and saved straight to your device.
