Frequently asked questions
Will a watermark stop people stealing my photo?
It deters casual copying and marks the source, but it isn't foolproof — a determined person can crop or edit it out. A tiled watermark across the whole image is harder to remove than a single corner stamp.
Which colour and opacity should I use?
Pick a colour that contrasts with your image — white on darker photos, black on lighter ones. Around 25–40% opacity is usually visible without overwhelming the picture; nudge it up for stronger protection.
Does watermarking lower the image quality?
Saving as PNG keeps the original pixels and just adds the text. Saving as JPG re-encodes the whole image, which is mildly lossy — choose PNG if you want no quality change beyond the watermark.
Is my photo uploaded to add the watermark?
No. The image is drawn onto a canvas and the text is overlaid in your browser; the finished file is created locally and saved to your device.
