Frequently asked questions
Can I use my own picture?
Yes — that's the point. Drop in any image you have; the tool only adds the captions you type. It doesn't ship meme templates, so use a picture you have the right to use.
Why is the text in capitals?
It's the classic meme convention — bold uppercase with a heavy outline reads clearly over almost any image. The tool uppercases what you type automatically.
My caption is long — will it still fit?
Yes. The text shrinks and wraps onto up to three lines to fit the image width, so a longer line just comes out a bit smaller rather than running off the edge.
Does the picture get uploaded to make the meme?
No. The image is drawn onto a canvas and captioned in your browser; the PNG is created locally and saved straight to your device.
